Mushrooms have long been used in traditional medicine, and as we seek to get back in touch with these ancient traditions they have gained in popularity. We share about 30% of our DNA with fungi, and they are a very bioavailable medicine to us. Cultures around the world have used them for thousands of years to promote health and modern day scientific research is now beginning to back up their healing properties.
-
Mushrooms are one of the safest supplements out there, they are the true adaptogens. That said we would advise anyone on any medication to check with your GP or pharmacist for contraindications.

-
We use either a dual-extraction or hot water extraction method for most of our mushrooms. We use a hot water extraction to draw out the water soluble compounds as well as an ethanolic extraction to pull out the fat soluble compounds, this enables us to get the full spectrum of beneficial nutrients the mushrooms provide.
-
We are committed to offering the highest quality and purest mushroom products. All of our products are third party tested in a laboratory for heavy metals, pesticides, as well as other toxins and contaminants. COAs available on request.
-
We source our mushrooms from select cultivators in China. The growing conditions are pristine. They have a long history in terms of mushroom cultivation, their knowledge and methods in growing and extraction are far superior to anywhere else.
-
The use of medicinal mushrooms was a cornerstone in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and this practice dates back thousands of years. No country has more extensive knowledge than China in the growing and extraction of mushrooms. China is also home to some of the vastest and most pristine forests in the world, which provide the ideal environment for mushrooms to grow. It is universally agreed, through ongoing DNA analysis, that China continue to grow the best quality mushrooms in the world.
-
It depends on the mushroom, but our products are largely fruiting body based, alongside some mycelium/biomass in the full spectrum range which provides a wider range of key actives for best effects. We believe all parts of the mushroom have health benefits. We also use Reishi spores in our spore range, which are microscopic spores that the mushroom produces at the end of its growth cycle, these provide similar benefits but some nutrients are highly concentrated.
-
Whenever suits you! We like cordyceps earlier in the day to support stable energy levels, lions mane after lunch, or early afternoon to support brain function, and reishi in the evening for relaxation and calming. Consume them whenever you feel you need them.
-
You can combine medicinal mushrooms together for a full spectrum of the different nutrients they contain. Combine our capsules, powders, and lattes or look at our Myco blends which synergistically combine some of the most powerful medicinal mushrooms.
-
Yes our full range is certified Vegan friendly. None of our ingredients are animal derived, and our Cordyceps is not grown on insect hosts.
-
There is no difference whatsoever between our capsules and powders. The capsules just contain the powders in a vegetable based capsule.
-
We can't recommend the mushrooms during pregnancy or breastfeeding sorry! There aren't any studies in this area to establish safety, so we are unable to recommend. We would ask you to check with your healthcare practitioner

-
Extraction ratios for each individual mushroom in the pure grade range is listed on the packaging/website/brochure etc.
-
Beta-glucans content varies for each mushroom, this is listed on the packaging/website. The key therapeutic compounds differ for each mushroom, the amounts of these can also be found on the packaging/website.
-
We have found over the years there can be significant colour and density differences from batch to batch across all mushroom extracts. This very much depends upon the harvest. As we do not use any additives, preservatives etc and are dealing with natural ingredients there can be slight variations in colour and taste from batch to batch. We can assure you that each batch is fully tested and will be of a similar quality each time.
-
Mycelium has been shown to be immunologically active and contains different compounds to the fruiting body, in certain mushrooms the mycelium secretes valuable compounds like Lion's Mane with the erinacines and Cordyceps with cordycepin, hence using it in certain products in our ranges. We grow our biomass for these products for 120 days (around 3-4 times longer than the majority on the market) which gives time for the beneficial compounds to be highly concentrated and also for the substrate to be exhausted.
Chaga
-
Yes, the chaga is sustainably wild crafted. The people harvesting are trained to avoid damaging the trunk of the host birch tree when removing the conk to ensure that the conk can re-grow
Cordyceps
-
Our cordyceps militaris is grown on rice and cordyceps sinensis in cordyceps perform is grown on sorghum.
-
The cordyceps is vegan. The majority of cordyceps is now grown on non-insect, grain based substrates which has improved quality control and affordability. HPLC analysis shows identical chemical profiles to wild cordyceps, and the two are interchangeable clinically.
-
Cordyceps
-
The main difference between sinensis and militaris species is in the concentrations of 2 compounds: adenosine and cordycepin. Studies have shown that cordyceps sinensis contains more adenosine than cordyceps militaris, but little cordycepin which the militaris contains.
-
Pure grade is an extract and is more therapeutic than the Cordyceps Perform. The militaris species in pure grade is rich in cordycepin and is more geared towards respiratory and kidney health, with anti-viral and immune benefits. Cordyceps perform has a wider spectrum of compounds and actions for more general health. The sinensis species is rich in adenosine and means it is more geared towards energy support and exercise.
Lattes
-
Our Mushrooms For Life lattes use pure grade mushroom extracts which are water soluble. Our lattes can be drunk immediately to receive full benefits, steeping for longer will not enhance the nutrient quality.

Lion's Mane
-
This should be discussed with your healthcare practitioner first.
-
Pure Grade Lion's Mane is grown on rice and wood chips. Lion's Mane Focus is grown on sorghum.
-
Pure grade Lion's Mane is an extract and is more therapeutic than the Lion’s Mane Focus. The fruiting body extract is rich in hericenones and is more geared towards cognitive health and neuroprotection. The Lion’s Mane Focus contains pure fruiting body as well as the filaments and young fruiting bodies and has a broader range of compounds including both hericenones and erinacines, making it more of a lifestyle product for nootropic support, studying, and mental clarity.
Reishi
-
They have very similar benefits, but Reishi spores have much more concentrated amounts of a compound called triterpenes, which are responsible for Reishi’s anti-inflammatory and antihistamine benefits. There are 200% more triterpenes in Reishi Spore, making it the perfect choice for allergy and hay fever sufferers.
Turkey Tail
-
It is no longer certified organic, but all ingredients are organic and wild crafted.
