In Traditional Chinese Medicine, lion’s mane was used as a tonic for supporting overall health and longevity.

Benefits: Why you should use it?

Studies have found it stimulates production of nerve growth factor (NGF) which helps to maintain the neurons, which are the brain cells responsible for helping us to process and transmit information, supporting learning and memory.
  • Sleep/Calming: Reishi’s triterpenes have a sedative action, it has traditionally been valued in cases of insomnia.
  • Neuroprotection: Both polysaccharides and triterpenes from reishi exhibit neuroprotective effects (2).

Key Actives

  • Polysaccharides: Studies have highlighted their ability to modulate immune function.
  • Triterpenoids: The most valuable constituents of reishi mushroom, they  have been reported to be hepatoprotective, anti-histaminic, and be valuable for cardiovascular health amongst other actions (3).
  • Antioxidants: Act as a protective shield, safeguarding our cells from damage (4).
